Looking at Oklahoma leasing activity over the last 30 days, Caddo and Custer counties continue standing out as some of the hottest areas in the state.
What’s interesting is how concentrated the activity appears once you zoom into the detailed map view. You can clearly see leasing clustering along the northern portion of Caddo County, extending southeast to northwest up into Custer County.
At one time, it seemed like many considered Caddo County outside the primary focus areas for larger operators. A few smaller companies were actively drilling and quietly building positions there, while many of what most would consider the “heavy hitters” largely stayed away.
That now appears to be changing.
Looking back to 2023, you can clearly see an uptick in consistent regulatory filings across the area over the past year, suggesting growing operator interest.
One thing we enjoy as an Oklahoma-focused company is seeing new counties and regions begin attracting renewed attention.
