One of the things I ran into often as a landman was making sure I was accounting for all of the wells that could affect the section I was researching.
That matters because a well doesn't necessarily have to be located entirely within a section to be important to it. A well outside the section may have a lateral that crosses through it, which can be important when evaluating whether acreage is held by production or researching other lease-related issues.
Traditionally, section-based searches primarily showed wells based on their surface location . Convey640 enhanced that analysis by adding bottom-hole locations , giving users a better picture of the wells associated with a section.
Now, we've taken it a step further.
Introducing Convey640 Section Well Intelligence
Section Well Intelligence identifies wells whose laterals appear to cross through the section you're researching , even when the well's surface and bottom-hole locations are in other sections.
Take 27-06N-04W as an example.
If we performed a traditional search for the section, we would see two wells directly associated with it.
With Convey640 Section Well Intelligence, we can see four wells affecting the section —including two additional horizontal wells that originate in 34-06N-04W , cross through 27-06N-04W , and continue to 22-06N-04W .
Note: Some wells have been removed from the illustration for clarity.
That additional information can make a difference when you're analyzing an existing asset, researching prospective acreage, or trying to understand the complete well activity affecting a section.
